Dear Friend,

If you have found your way here, then you are at least curious about taking your website to the next level. The internet is moving so fast that learning and WordPress go hand-in-hand.  And YES! learning can actually be really easy and fun. Let’s find out more.

If you would like to know how to build a WordPress website in 1 minute or less, please click here Leaning and wordpress for free. please click here.

What is WordPress?

WordPress is the #1 platform for building websites on the Internet. It is the #1 most used because it is the most user-friendly.

By being so user-friendly, people don’t have to worry about learning HTML code from scratch (phew!! no more staying up until 2am!!).

By being the #1 platform, it means that developers and people with a high level of skill with WordPRess are constantly building applications and plug-ins and other useful tools to make WordPress better and better.

All these improvements that other people are doing means that you DON’T have to do the programming personally. Other people have thought of this for you.   (Phew!! How nice of them.)

The main advantage of this is that it frees you up from worrying about all the technical aspects of building a website, so that now you can focus your attention on your customers needs.

By focusing all of your attention on the needs of your customers, then your customers will be happier and hopefully your business will grow faster and that in turn will make you happier!

Sounds great doesn’t it?

Learning is fun

If you can remember back to your time in school, lots of us had to listen through boring lectures on boring topics that we weren’t really that interest in.

Now that we are grown up’s…time has certainly changed.

Now we can invest our time learning about topics that interest you and will really make a difference to our lives, our families lives and also our customers lives.

This is where the fun part comes in.

By staying up to date with the latest happenings on the Internet or in our chosen industries, then we are able to help more people faster than ever before.

This in tern means that we get access to more customers quicker and also because we are helping more people sooner, we are able to grow our business in ways that we never felt possible before.

Learning is current

A famous quote that I like is “half of my marketing doesn’t work anymore…. the trouble is I don’t know which half”.

Can you relate to this saying at all?

It happens to all of us over time.

I know lots and lots of people who used to be REALLY good at Facebook marketing only a few short years ago, but then Facebook changed the rules and their algorithms on their news feeds and what used to work really, really well 2 or 3 years ago doesn’t work the same way anymore.

Does this sound familiar to you?

I know that my friends where scratching their heads trying to figure out HOW do they get the new rules with Facebook to work out for them? HOW do they get their audience back?

We all want lots and lots of free traffic, but smart business people know that the key is to make sure they are using the best, most up to date techniques.

Learning is cheaper than mistakes

We have all heard horror stories about people who wanted to build a business online, and were so keen that they jumped right in like the classic “bull at a gate” story.

Many of them dived straight into a classic “Google Adwords” campaign or a “Facebook Ad’s campaign”.

Here they spent their hard-earned money that they earnt through their wages and tipped them into a “Google Adwords” campaign. They selected the keywords that they wanted to target and then they selected the countries and the ages and gender that they wanted (demographic selection).

They allocated what they thought was a reasonable amount for a campaign, say $100 and then set the campaign and hit “GO”.

And then they sat back and went and got a cup of coffee and came back and “wooosh” just like that ALL of their money was gone.

But worse is still to come….

They then looked at the traffic to their website and they were greeted by a horror site.

Perhaps it’s a screenshot that looks something like this….

Screenshot of a Google Adwords campaign

The main thing that you will see is that there are

  1. lots of websites views

2.  A few isolated clicks to go and visit their website

and then…..

They look, and then look again…..

3. They either have ZERO sales or almost ZERO sales.

Boo hoo… The money is all gone and there is no sales or profit in sight anywhere.

This situation could have been avoided if the website owner had protected themselves by asking the community and our local Google AdWords experts about what are the current best methods of using Google AdWords or Facebook Ad’s for profit?

I mean why waste your time or money if you don’t have to right?

Learning about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is important

Learning and wordpress needs good SEO

EVERYONE wants a HUGE amount of FREE organic search engine traffic. Unfortunately because EVERYONE wants it, it is actually hard to get.

That’s why people that are serious about building a business online take time to research and understand how to find and use good SEO keywords.

SEO Keywords and quality headings are like the “Billboard” that screams out and says “My Post is Here” and “My Content Is Great”.

Why do we do this?

We do this because it takes a lot of time and energy to create a blog post that goes for 1,000 or 1,500 or even 2,000 words long.

After all this time, energy and creativity that you have used to bring your blog post to life, don’t you think that people deserve to read what you have said? We call this “blog traffic”.

Learning how to get FREE TRAFFIC to your website is one of your key success indicators and can really be the difference between your website having a TON of visitors and being really, really successful or a website with little or almost no visitors and you having to go out and get a job to support your family.

Don’t let this mistake happen to you.

Spend a little bit of time learning about how you can tweak SEO and quality keywords to attract more website visitors.

  2. You’re so on target with your assessment of how steep the learning curve is for digital marketing. Things change so fast online. If you don’t keep up with these changes, you’ll get left behind, which unfortunately means loss of income.

That’s why it’s good to find a place where you can get training and relevant, real-time information, so that you can keep up with the changes. Learning is a life long event.

  3. Hi there,

    Great article!

When I started blogging, I thought I needed to learn some coding before, but as soon as I started, I realize how easy it is and that there is no need at all to use coding. It’s really magical! I’ve heard that Joomla is a bit more complicated to use. Have you tried it? If so, is there is the need to use coding?

Thank you for this excellent post!

    1. HI Daniella,

Thank you for visiting our website today.  I really appreciate that.

Yes! I agree with you that when I first started coding I actually had to learn HTML ( It was back in the 1990’s after all) and I thought that was how it was for life.  Now we fast forward to 2018 and the internet has matured so much that it is really easy because a lot of the back end coding has been done for you.

This is wonderful news because it frees you up to focus on content and clients and providing value to your readers – which is the #1 reason by I do what I do.

So it is a win / win for everyone.

I am glad that you don’t have to worry about coding anymore either.

Yes, Joomla is another excellent website platform to you.  It is a bit more complicated and there is more coding involved.  WordPress is #1 worldwide and is used by “solo entrepreneurs” and small to medium enterprises (SME’s).

Joomla is #2 worldwide and is used by most professional webmasters and businesses who specialise in building websites for others.  There is more coding involved and is more customisable as a result.

  4. Personally I also use wordpress. And it is a lot of fun. Yes you are right it is very nice that it is already set up and we don’t have to learn thing HTML to use it. Honestly this concept is very scary to me and I am very grateful this part is already done.
    Thank you so much

    1. Hi Melissa and thank you for stopping by.

I am glad to hear that you already have a website up and running.  Good on you.  This first step is actually a giant step for many people.

Like  you I am SUPER happy that I don’t have to learn HTML coding anymore.  I did that back in the 1990’s when the internet was still quite young.  I am glad that things have moved on at the rate of knots and now we don’t have to do that any more… lots and lots of kind souls who understand programming are happy to do it for us.  Yippee!!

It means that I can focus on helping my clients more.

  5. Yes, continuous learning is important. I think that goes to all aspects of life, and it is especially important if you are in the internet marketing business.
When it comes to staying up until 2 a.m., I sometimes do that anyway when I write content I want to publish on my WordPress website. *LOL* It is so much fun to have your own website!

    1. Hi Miqa,

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate that.

Wow you are up until 2am blogging as well!  Gee I am happy that you stopped by today so I could meet a fellow blogger.  Nice to meet you.

I agree that blogging can be fun.  It doesn’t have to be hard at all… and the best part about blogging is that we are talking about topics that we actually enjoy and we are helping our customers achieve more and live better lives – so this is a win / win for everyone.

I agree that as a business owner we must enjoy what we are doing.  The learning experience is never ending.
